Ian Hill is a painter. He received a BFA in illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco while studying under David Ball, Stephen Player, Charles Pyle, and Kazu Sano.
With musings of obscure and humorus juxtapositions, he projects a non sequitur narrative quality that the viewer can experience psychologically. Hill's oil painting's are concocted of memories, still-life, digital manipulation, vintage photo's, nature, toys, and quantum theories. He is also inspired by other artists such as Velasquez, Norman Rockwell and contemporaries like Victor Sanfokin, Jeff Koons, and Eric White.
As well as receiving awards such as the "Direct Art Award" from the Limner Gallery, and being in such publications as Spectrum Fantasy, Hill has exhibited in San Francisco, Seattle, New York, D.C. and Manila.
